Course XXVII - Teaching 8: Iranian Religion

As Aryan civilizations were succeeding one another, religions experienced changes, modifications and transformations.
On the basin of river Tigris, in Central Asia, a strong and indomitable people, the Assyrian people, soon grew up and developed a powerful civilization.
Populous and lost cities if Assur, Ninive and Kalakh are memorials of this great people. As their great enemy, the Egyptian people, whom they defeated and by whom they were defeated, they deify the aspect of Nature, Goddess Dove, the great queen Semiramis; meanwhile the worship of the male aspect of God was symbolized by the Holy Fire burning constantly in their temples.
Sargonides, Medes and Persians worshipped the two aspects: fire as God, and Deified Nature as Goddess. But a new religion should emerge: a religion deifying and exalting further the divine concept, and liberating it from a lot of idols, statues and varied worships.
The Divine Atlantean religion, had been crushed by monstrous statues of numerous gods, and the pure and natural religion of the early Aryans had been replaced by gross forms.
Assur, the winged god emerged from the Solar disk, whose image was copied by the Greeks for their god Hermes, had lost any harmonious significance of mankind linked with the Divine.
On a vast plateau of Asia, surrounded by rivers Indus and Tigris, and the Caspian Sea, a new Aryan race was taking form, a mixture of Persians, Medes and Assyrians: the Iranian or Persian race.
In the dawn of their civilization, a Great Initiate, Zarathustra (sixth century b.C.) descended among them to restore and harmonize religious worship.. This Great Being destroyed idolatry and raised the standard of the Great God, the Unique God, the Solar Word: Ahuramazda.
Since then, Solar worship, symbol of the Divine Religion of the Atlanteans, will shine in any standard, throne and altar.
In his youth, Zarathustra is taken by Vohumano, tutelary god of the race, to a high mountain and there Ahuramadza gives him the Avesta, the holy code of the new religion. Also Moses, lawgiver of the Jewish people, receives Jehovah’s Law on a mount.
Even in death this new religion is devoid of many forms, since it exposes corpses of its dead people on high towers, and birds of prey eat them and the sun reduces their bones to ashes.
Iranian religion established the two fundamental principles of good and evil. Good has to be rewarded in this lifetime and in the hereafter; evil has to be punished in this lifetime by the law and in the hereafter by divine pain and punishments.
Iranian religion open a new parenthesis between Aryan religions that had lost their early harmony, based on a monotheistic and polytheistic worship at a time; if later, as time goes by, and like any religion, Iranian religion became materialistic and worshipped several gods, every successive religion never missed the true concept of religion of the race, which is a divine memory contained in human form. Circle and cross appear everywhere: the Holy Ankh of the Divine Mother shines on heaven of any religion of the Aryan race.
